Rosa Rodriguez, LCSW
About
Rosa is a NJ Licensed Social Worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hunter College and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University School of Social Work with a clinical concentration and a certificate in Violence Against Women and Children.
Rosa has experience working with both victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and has conducted group interventions with both populations. In working with victims, Rosa helped them deal with mental issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and helped them improve their self-esteem and ability to advance their own interests. In working with the perpetrators, Rosa provided extensive psychoeducation and anger management skills to this population. Rosa has worked with adults, children and adolescents in crisis or following trauma, in the community and in residential settings. Rosa has worked closely with parents of children suffering from mental illness providing supportive counseling, psychoeducation, and parenting skills training.
Rosa’s approach is goal oriented, and solution focused, while using cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques to empower her clients to achieve wellness. Rosa’s passion and commitment for helping others aim to assist those under her care with a unique realistic plan, meeting the client at the level of change and insight he/she currently is, in a culturally competent and non-judgmental environment. She is bringing a fresh perspective to each case and believes every client could benefit from therapy by gaining insight and self-awareness.
