About
Erika is a Licensed Associate Counselor as well as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor with about 6 years of experience in the mental health and addictions field. Erika received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and her Master of Arts degree in Addiction Studies with a mental health track at Montclair State University. She has experience working with individuals who struggle with mental health and/or addiction issues that may impact their day-to-day functioning.
Erika has worked in different settings: inpatient, detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and medicated assisted treatment. Erika believes that each client should have their treatment individualized to them, therefore, she utilizes a multitude of theoretical approaches. She incorporates techniques from motivational interviewing, Gestalt, existentialism, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. Erika works from a client-centered approach and believes building a solid therapeutic rapport and utilizing insightfulness will be beneficial for clients and their treatment.
